Noteey was founded by Alex Lau, a serial entrepreneur who previously co-founded Videoshow, a short video editing app with over 500 million users.
His next mission is to create the best visual knowledge management app.
For us, the best visual knowledge management app needs three key features:
- Completely Offline:
We want our "second brain" to be on our own hard drive, where we control our data. We don't want it in big companies' clouds, which make us worry about privacy and could become useless when the internet is bad.
2. No More Fragmented Knowledge:
We want to end knowledge fragmentation. Our knowledge won't be spread across different apps like Miro, Notion, and Excalidraw, but all in one place. Use cards for linear thinking, infinite canvas for non-linear thinking, mind maps for tree-like thinking, sticky notes for fleeting notes, and doodles for drawing. It's an all-in-one workspace for visual thinkers.
3. No More Information Islands:
We want our visual knowledge base to be more than an information island. We want it to be a digital asset that helps us continuously make an impact on the world. So Noteey has great presentation, export, and publishing features:
- We have a "presentation mode" - imagine Powerpoint on an unlimited canvas
- You can export your board as a local copy: others can open and edit it offline, with the entire process being completely offline. Just like sharing a Powerpoint
- You can publish your board as a webpage: create a website for each topic, with your own domain and site statistics, and even monetize your content.
